Hi Mid-A BKL skiers,
We’re psyched to host the Mid-Atlantic festival in the Rochester area, and I wanted to pass along what information we already know. Our festival website (http://rxcsfyouthskiing.weebly.com/festival.html) has an overview of our plans and will be updated as more is finalized in the coming weeks. Registration on SkiReg will go live at the beginning of December, and we’ll be working on a hotel block (likely in Victor, just off the Thruway and not far from the skiing at Bristol Mountain and the Saturday banquet) that we’ll post on the website as soon as it’s set.
We’d love to see all of you there, and feel free to invite anyone from neighboring clubs who might be interested. We understand that the Bristol trail system isn’t something that would usually entice you to drive across the state, but there’s plenty of space for a great BKL festival and the snowmaking gives us the best guarantee that the show will go on. (At our last Mid-A festival, one Dewey Mtn skier said “this is the best place I’ve ever skied” – we’re not going to make that claim, but clearly the trail specs don’t matter that much to kids who are having fun)
The dates are early this year due to a lot of conflicts in February, but we’ve always liked a January festival because it has turned on a lot of our newer kids to skiing and energized everyone for the rest of the season – hope it can work that way for everyone!
